Bangor Area Kid’s Clothing Swap Invitation

Kid’s are growing, and shopping is difficult with COVID-19 restrictions, so we are organizing a kid’s clothing swap to help out in difficult times. This is a neighbor-helping-neighbor type of event and participation is free of charge, all you have to do is sign up! It is not required that you donate clothes to be on the recipient list, but if you make a donation and let us know the recipient ID(s) you signed up under we will give donors priority if the types of items requested are limited.

Here is how it works:
If you would like to participate and have a kid (or kids) with clothing needs, fill out the recipient form. Select an ID number for each child, which will appear on the donations list with the details you provide.
If you have clothing in good condition your family no longer needs and want to share with others, visit the donations list and see if there is a need for the clothing you have, then use the donor sign up form to let us know.

The pick-up and drop-off location for the clothes will be Redeemer Lutheran Church, 540 Essex Street, in Bangor. The church is located right next to the I-95 overpass on Essex Street. Donors can drop off clean clothing in good condition labeled with your Donor ID and the gender and size of the clothing in the bag (or the Recipient ID if you have identified a good match for your donation) in a bin outside the church during the week of May 30 to June 6, 2020. If you have a variety of genders/sizes and can sort them into separate bags for us, that will help a lot in the sorting. Due to concerns about the virus we will close off accepting donations after June 6th in order to allow for a few days of quarantine before we sort the clothes for distribution. The following Saturday, June 13, 2020, recipients may pick up their clothes at the church between 9AM and noon. Alternate pick-up arrangements may be possible on a limited basis. The pick-up will be drive-through service to minimize exposure to the virus.
